Chapter 5 - The Curse
Everything went well until Birch´s 20th birthday, when he transformed into a werewolf.
"What's happening to me?" Birch cried as he felt his body changing.
Aura and Aspen watched in horror. "Birch! What’s wrong?" Aura shouted.

Other tribes, upon learning of this, distanced themselves from the family. Birch, excited to understand his strange feelings, discovered he could communicate with animals, including snakes.
"This is incredible," Birch said, a newfound confidence in his voice.
That winter was especially harsh; Belladonna nearly froze to death, and the twins grew up. Aspen decided to build a hut with the boys, as the cave was too small for everyone during winter.
That winter was especially harsh; Belladonna nearly froze to death, and the twins grew up. Aspen decided to build a hut with the boys, as the cave was too small for everyone during winter.
"We need more space," Aspen declared.
"Let’s start building," Birch agreed.
They needed more food, but Aura hadn't stored enough, and Basil starved to death.
The following years were tough for Grandarbre family. One summer was so hot that Bush caught fire and died too.
"Aspen, this is unbearable," Aura wept. "We’ve lost so much."
Aspen held her tightly. "We’ll get through this."
Aura, heartbroken, cried frequently. Belladonna, despite woohooing with many men, remained barren. Birch fought with Berry, turning him into a werewolf as well. "Why did you do this to me?" Berry shouted.
"I couldn't help it," Birch replied, guilt in his eyes.
These were hard times, with daily struggles to survive and constant fear of what the next day might bring. Birch met a woman named Tamara in the trading post and fell in love instantly.
"Tamara, I feel like I've known you forever," Birch said, holding her hand.
Tamara, pregnant and unwilling to stay in a place marked by death, moved with Birch to find a new cave.

They were spending a lot of time together, searching for gems or insects.
"Why can't I have a child?" Belladonna cried to Aura.
"Sometimes, it just doesn't happen," Aura said softly.
Aspen died of old age, passing the family's leadership to Birch.
Birch and Tamara pledged to stay together until death.
"I promise to protect you, Tamara," Birch vowed.
"And I promise to stand by you," Tamara replied.
Aura died that winter, content with her life.
Berry, now a werewolf, felt threatened by Birch and aspired to be the alpha male but neglected to feed himself and starved to death.
"Berry, you have to eat!" Birch yelled, but it was too late. Tamara comforted him.
Tamara, pregnant and unwilling to stay in a place marked by death, moved with Birch to find a new cave."We need a fresh start," Tamara said.
"I agree," Birch nodded. "Let's find somewhere new."
Chapter 7 - Belladonna
Belladonna was the only one left, a slob, easily impressed, star-quality, over-emotional, family-oriented young woman. Despite the hardships, she remained resilient, symbolizing the enduring spirit of the Grandarbre family.
"I’ll carry on, no matter what," Belladonna whispered to herself, looking towards the horizon with determination.
